Jessica Giordani & Jennifer Pritchett founded The Smitten Kitten in 2003. The Smitten Kitten provides a unique education-based retail sex toy store that is responsibly equipped with cutting edge resources, sexual health information and quality products. The Smitten Kitten is now a working model for not only operating a successful adult business but also an exemplary model of feminist entrepreneurship and progressive business generally.
As founding owners of the Minneapolis based sex toy retailer, Jessica & Jennifer quickly found their niche as adult toy industry and community leaders. The Smitten Kitten has, since its inception, changed the face of the entire adult industry world-wide by leading the movement to purge toxic materials and hazardous manufacturing processes and educate consumers about not only the dangers of toxic sex toys but the availability of safe alternatives. To further their goal of industry change, Giordani and Pritchett co-founded the first ever adult consumer advocacy organization, The Coalition Against Toxic Toys, in 2005.
The Smitten Kitten's dedication to social justice and community empowerment is fueled by the founder's educational backgrounds and organizing skills garnered in Women's Studies and as campus & community activists. Currently Jessica and Jennifer are active members of several area community organizations including Quorum, the Twin Cities' GLBTQ Chamber of Commerce.
